“At The Bike Project, we take secondhand bikes, fix them up and donate them to refugees and asylum seekers in London and Birmingham. Having fled persecution and atrocity in their country of origin, most refugees arrive in the UK with absolutely nothing. A bike helps them access food banks, legal advice, healthcare, education and much more. If they're lucky enough to receive official refugee status, a bike can help refugees find employment.”
Refurbishing and delivering bikes to refugees.
Organising and delivering face-to-face programmes such as Pedal Power (teaching women to cycle) and Bike Buddies (pairing refugees with a cyclist from their local area).
Deliver Covid-friendly online programmes such as Cyber Cyclists to engage and support refugees online.
Selling and shipping second-hand bikes to customers in the UK to raise further funds.
