Creating products that are better for our planet is embedded deep in our mission. Eyewear products will always have an environmental impact but at SunGod, we’re committed to minimising this wherever possible - through lower-impact packaging and improved transport solutions, by increasing our use of recyclable materials and utilising better manufacturing processes, and by supporting causes that raise awareness for climate change.
Whilst most brands only measure and offset their operations to claim carbon neutrality, our planet is also our playground so we care deeply about the impact we're causing. That’s why we’ve gone further, footprinting in detail both our operations and our products since day 1 (back in 2013) to truly measure and offset our entire impact.
Every SunGod product is Carbon Neutral. Working with ClimatePartner, we’ve calculated the carbon impact of each product through production, transportation, logistics and disposal, and neutralised that impact through certified offsetting projects, dating back to the very first product we sold.
The elements are integral to the outdoor sports we love, so our chosen offsetting projects align with our passion for our outdoor playground. Here are some of our chosen projects:
The construction and operation of Mauritius' first large scale solar power plant. This project saves carbon emissions and improves the local population's supply of clean energy.
A wind power project based in the Thar Desert in Rajasthan, India with 37 wind turbines and a total capacity of 29.6 MW, supplying renewable energy to the local community. The project develops transportation infrastructure and stabilises the power grid in the region. This attracts businesses, creates jobs and improves standards of living.
ClimatePartner’s first biochar initiative incentivises farmers to produce biochar and use it for agricultural purposes, such as soil additives. Biochar is a permanent carbon sink and therefore makes a valuable contribution to climate action.
A multi-country project helping keep our oceans clean. In Haiti, Indonesia, Brazil and the Philippines, locals collect plastic waste and exchange it at local collection points for money, food, drinking water or even school fees. This project makes sure that less plastic ends up in the sea and instead is recycled and turned into so-called Social Plastic.

But we know Carbon Neutrality alone isn’t enough, and we’re committed to continual improvement. Having measured our carbon impact we now know exactly where we can improve, unlocking significant reductions in carbon emissions as we double-down on our efforts in the global journey towards Net 0.
